The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency officially ended on May 11, 2023.

At Newport Meadows, the health and safety of our residents, visitors, and staff are our top priority. We continue to follow current recommended CDC guidance and take precautions to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission.

If you have been exposed, are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or other respiratory illness, we ask that you please postpone your non-urgent visit until you are feeling better. In the event a resident or staff member develops symptoms or tests positive for COVID-19, procedures to reduce risk of severe illness and further transmission are implemented immediately. We will keep you informed and may request that you wear a facemask when visiting as we respond to any COVID-19 cases.

Prevention is key! Handwashing and basic health and hygiene practices are always strongly encouraged!

In addition, the CDC recommends:

  • Staying Up to Date with COVID-19 Vaccines
  • Improving Ventilation
  • Getting Tested for COVID-19 If Needed
  • Following Recommendations for What to Do If You Have Been Exposed
  • Staying Home If You Have Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19
  • Seeking Treatment If You Have COVID-19 and Are at High Risk of Getting Very Sick
  • Avoiding Contact with People Who Have Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19
